Saïd Belmir were Finalist at the Jacquart Design Trophy 2017 with his case project named “Tameshigiri” for the champagne Jacquart Blanc de Blancs. The main idea was to give a sharp cut representing the youth customers dynamism and audacity, into a monolith volume representing the tradition and the history of Maison Jacquart.
The cut then reveals an inside mineral layer, referencing the champagne’s mineral aspect. The whole case was made as a sensitive experiment, with real noble materials. The exterior part is made in oak, and the mineral part is made in Sea Green Stone by the Stoneleaf company.
